As much as I try to get things done before December, it never quite works for me. I have done pretty well this year. The bulk of the sewing is finished already, but the bits and pieces still have to be finished.
I took pictures of the November pin-up quilt. I think my camera is dying on me, though. I know the quilt is purple and the photos turned out blue. Even Number Four agreed. So, if the sun comes back again, I’ll take more photos with another device.
Actually got to sit at the sewing machine last week. Man that was nice. First time all month. Worked on the last circle quilt. My sewing list is longer than I would like at this point, however. Also knocked out some masks for the under ten set and got my mom’s wall hanging pressed up. Now to applique the thing and move it along.
The boss ordered these lovely flowers for our desks. So I took a photo and did a color study. Lots of choices in this one. Can’t wait to make a couple of quilts with the different colors.
The first day of December, that is. Really on the count down now. So much to make, and a really tight timeline. I would like to say that most of my sewing was under control, and it might be, just not mine. Guess it’s time to write out a list. With due dates.
I made this little color inspiration the week before last. Slacked on getting it posted. So, here you go.
I follow Design Seeds on Facebook. The link will take you to their website. They post color palettes based on photographs. Some of them are really pretty. Some of them are color combinations that I would never think of putting together. But that is the point. Right now they are posting a Farmer’s Market theme. Really nice, soft purples with a rich cream and muted greens…. all from a beet. Absolutely cool. So I thought I might look around and see what photos I could take and do the same thing. Because imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Yeah, we’ll go with that. So, here is my first attempt.
I found this image on a website called Veer. They have really cool photos and images. And some AWESOME fonts. I have a thing for fonts. Whatever.
My next inspiration photo will be one I have taken. I hope. I have taken several for this reason. Just need to get them off the phone. Which is also where the rest of the circle photos reside. A project for next week. Woo hoo!
Have a great weekend!
